The Foundation sponsors an MS Support group that meets on a monthly basis in Lafayette, Louisiana. The Foundation also sponsors, hosts and underwrites periodic educational programs in Lafayette that deal with the treatment of MS, new medicines available to MS patients, and how to cope with MS on a day to day basis. Finally, the Foundationprovides financial assistance to qualified MS applicants in Louisiana. The financial assistance is usually in the form of payment by the Foundation of a non-time sensitive third party invoice. In the past, the Foundation has paid for medical prescriptions, walking aids, eyeglasses, medical appointments, and utility bills.
