Southwest Louisiana Multiple Sclerosis Foundation

Justice Grillin' Hamburger Cook-Off was Create in 2001 by members of the Lafayette legal Community affected by Multiple Sclerosis. The event has since expanded to incorporate donors, sponsors, cooking teams and "burger eaters" from all walks of life in Acadiana who want to help the cause.

Funds raised go to the Southwest Louisiana MS Foundation, Founded by the late Dr. Robert Martinez, to provide direct support, education and assistance to local MS patients. Justice Grillin' is held in memory of Dr. Martinez, whose tireless and compassionate efforts helped many of those afflicted with this chronic, incurable and often debilitating disease.

Event Guidelines

Team entry fees should be received by May 9 (Teams Welcomed after May 9, but Shirts not guaranteed.)
Minimum of 50 lbs. of meat must be prepared, but teams may prepare more.
Any combination of meat or other ingredients, toppings and fillings are allowed.
Inspection will be conducted before cooking to ensure teams start with raw meat.
Meat should be seasoned and made into patties ahead of time.
Official set-up begins at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, May 23. Please respect River Ranch Businesses.
No Tent stakes of any type are allowed on the square.
Official judging begins at 5 p.m. (First batch of burgers ready by 5 p.m. and last batch by 7:30 p.m.)

Cost: $100 per a 4-person Team ($250 per Trailer Team). Add $5 per extra team member. Team costs includes 1 free captain's shirt. Extra shirts are available for purchase. Entry fee allows team members to taste all burgers.

- Grill
- Grilling tools & supplies
- Condiments to compliment your burgers
- 50 lbs. raw meat (minimum)
- Prep Table
- Serving Table
- Tents (20 X 20 Maximum)
- Decorations are welcome - no limit on wackiness
